Setting up Phone provider exchange


Provider Exchange simplifies the process of bringing your own carrier (BYOC) into Zoom Phone, allowing for seamless connectivity, with no on-premise hardware required. You can effortlessly discover and establish a connection with multiple preferred providers directly from the Zoom web portal.

Follow these steps to start the process via the Zoom web portal and locate your providers.

Locate available carriers from the Zoom web portal

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management, then Provider Exchange.
    You will see a list of available providers.
  3. (Optional) Under All Providers, filter your provider by country/region or type the name of your provider in the search box.

Request a connection with your provider(s)

  1. Locate your provider.
  2. To the right of the provider, under Status, click Connect.
    A PSTN Provider Authorization window will display.
  3. In the authorization window, under Signature, enter the name of your Zoom account exactly as indicated in your account profile.
  4. Click Send.
    The provider’s status will change to Connected in the web portal and the provider will receive an email notification requesting the connection.
  5. (Optional) Under Status, for the provider(s) you added, click Connected to do the following:
    • View the date and time of the authorization.
    • Click Contact Support, to open a ticket with the provider’s support in case you have any questions/issues.
    • Click Disconnect Provider, to stop the connection with the provider.
      Note: You won’t be able to disconnect if there are phone numbers that are already provisioned between Zoom and the provider.

View the list of your provider’s phone numbers in the Zoom web portal

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management, then Phone Numbers.
  3. Click the Cloud Peering tab and view the following:
    All of your cloud-peering phone numbers will be listed in this tab and can now be assigned to users.
    • Number: The phone number connected.
    • Provider: The name of your provider.
    • Area: Country/Region of the phone number connected.
    • Number Type: Toll or toll-free phone number.
    • Service Info: Additional information listed by the provider.

How to set up a Provider exchange from Zoom Marketplace

Locate available carriers from Marketplace

Follow these steps to start the process to locate your providers who are using an app.

  1. Sign in to your Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management, then click Provider Exchange.
    The Provider Exchange page will list all available providers.
  3. Under All Providers, filter your provider by country/region or type the name of your provider in the search box.
  4. Click on the Provider name to be directed to the marketplace for more information about the provider’s app.

Assign a provider’s phone number to Zoom

Note: Each provider may have a different process within their web portal. Please contact the provider or refer to their specific documentation in the Zoom marketplace.

  1. Locate your provider as stated in how to locate available carriers.
  2. On the far right of your provider’s name, click Connect.
    You will be redirected to your provider’s web portal.
  3. In the provider’s portal, obtain the phone number to be used with Zoom.
  4. Assign the phone number to Zoom.

View the list of your provider’s phone numbers in your Zoom account

  1. Sign in to your Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management, then click Phone Numbers.
  3. Select the Cloud Peering tab.
    The list of your provider’s phone number will be listed.
